Chi , Mind, and Body as one

Tori (the taker) and Uke (the reciever) always try to take control of each other, and the one who successfully connects the opponent eariler is the real “Tori”.

The practice of Aikido is learning how to balance and connect each other , learning how to “get along with “ your opponent in the attack- and-defense practice , and learning various techniqes of control and ukemi.

Mudansha (the students of Aikido who have not yet attained the status of Dan) train their bodies well , so that they can actually get Aikdio training when they become yudansha (the students of Aikido who are awareded the black belt and ranked as Dan). Only when the techiques you learn get rid of the training models , will they be useful and practical in the battlefield.

Stamina(physical agility), speed and strength are necessary to martial arts .They have priority over skills . Apply techniques with relaxation, softeness or hardness when you meet different opponents, so that you can perform perfect “irimi”(entering) to make your opponents unbalanced.

Always enter the center of your opponents (catch the weak point of your opponents) , and never mind trivial matters.
It doesn’t count how spectecular the skill is, but the strength and beauty it presents.

Take action prior to your opponents !
Make chi, mind, and body in harmony!
